Pictures are all over the place. In family albulms, on Facebook, on the walls of your house and in your wallet. Why do we surround ourselves with pictures? It is because they tell a story.
But the story isn't one we can hear. Nor is it one that anybody outside of the picture could read. Only those involved in the overall moment which was captured in the picture know the story.
Memories are held within one's mind but are jogged by the image. Our brains hold a lot of memories. After some time the memories fade and new ones are put in place. The fading of the memories does not mean that they disapear forever.
Pictures are the best way for the mind to remeber. They can visually see the place, the people and the entire atmosphere of that day. Pictures are a permanent record of what happened. They hold the spark to one's memory.

I agree "they hold the spark to ones memory" especially when you rely on your camera to remember the night before. lol
